Welcome to my blog

Hi Every One,

Thanks for checking out my site!  I'm glad to have the opportunity to share my ideas with you. My goals are to assist you with any design dilemmas you may have and to share my ideas and inspiration, and give credit to all of my wonderful clients! Also it's a great opportunity to tell you about my other site where you'll find beautiful bedding duvet sets from the fabulous French designer LeVele.  www.BeyondBoringBedding.com I carry 100% cotton and organic bamboo sets, check them out! You can also see my work at www.houzz.com.  Don't forget to add my sites to your favorites list.

I wish I started sooner, but I'm just wrapping up a design job I did on Olga and Lou's living room. This young couple have a beautiful split level in the burbs. They just gave birth to the cutest little baby boy and needed help making their house more homey. They had very dark window drapes that blocked out most of the light and muddy sage green wall color which made the room feel oppressive. We lightened up the walls with a warm yellow and we're adding blinds and dummy panels to the large bay window. I'll be doing the install soon and I will post the before and after pics so stay tuned because this will be the ultimate transformation once the finishing touches are done. Can't wait to show you!!!

While I was waiting for the blinds to come in, I installed laminate wood floors on the second floor of my own house. What I thought would take a weekend took 2 weeks, but well worth the wait. I had old smelly, dusty, unraveling carpet before. I spent so much time attempting to do the job myself but finally gave up. I bought some awful stuff from Ikea (Tundra). I wasn't sure if it was me or the material, but I would click one side in and the other would pop out. I actually broke down and cried at one point! If you know me, you would know that I am very handy, and do most of the projects in my home (painting, tiling, furniture refinishing,crafting,..., I have saws and tools galore!) so I couldn't grasp why I could not do this project??? I finally gave up, called a professional (Tom) and he made me take it all back. Said it was the worst stuff he ever used. I ended up with "Swiftlock" from Lowes and it was soooo much better and like $.65 more. I did my daughters room and had Tom do the rest. Tiling is so much easier! He  did a great job!  I'm so happy! It's so clean, all I have to do is use a dust mop on it! Would highly recommend it!  Talk to you soon, Marie
